Bio-Nutrient Reduction for Nitrification, Denitrification and Phosphorous

With emerging mandates on managing nutrient loading and contaminants, there are additional regulatory concerns coming.

In Bio-Reduction Reduction, attendees will explore some of the reasons why these regulatory concerns are being created and some additional rules that are coming down the pipe.

Attendees will look at some of the ways that systems can begin to prepare and address these issues in their operations.

During Bio-Nutrient Reduction, attendees will learn a variety of methods that are currently being used to manage nutrient levels in waste water systems.

Technical information on alternatives to mechanical solutions is reviewed and some case studies of how treatment solutions work on mitigating these contaminants are presented.

Rick Allen discusses the environmental impact of nutrients and specifically looks at Nitrates and Phosphates in waterways and systems. Rick will delve into the biological processes of breaking down these nutrients and discuss various strategies on how system operators can look at their processes to improve the biological nutrient removal.

During this discussion the attendees will begin to make connections to the ecological impact behind the regulations and the requirements that are forthcoming like measuring for nutrient loading and pharmaceutical loading.

During the training attendees will explore what nutrient policies already exist along with changing rules and become more familiar with future practices around managing water for biological nutrient removal.

During Bio-Nutrient Reduction, Rick Allen will share a variety of methods that are currently being used to manage nutrient levels in waste water systems. Exploration into engineered technologies including the use of natural and mechanical technologies, help attendees to understand the ways systems can alter or modify their existing plants to meet standards.
